Alumni Association

As many of you know, last year was an interesting year for our Alumni Association.  For the first time in over 15 years, we almost missed our annual donation goal.  We have not missed our goal since 1998.  Luckily, we were able to rally our very loyal alumni base in the fourth quarter, down $75,000, and meet our funding goal for the year.

We are not going to make excuses for falling short in the beginning of the year and for getting behind early in the game, but we are going to use this opportunity to prepare for future years.  This is a call to action for all of our alumni, friends, and family.  Cornell Sprint Football is a very important part of our lives and the lives of future students.  We need to set a foundation where by we will never fall short of our funding goals--now or ever.

Many of our alumni last year gave above and beyond their normal gifts for the year, thanks to their loyalty and dedication to Coach Cullen.  Coach has been an integral part of our sport and our Alumni Association.  Unfortunately, we cannot always expect Coach to be the one who leads us to a fourth quarter comeback.  We need to build a program, a culture, and a promise to future generations that we can sustain this organization for the next 50 to 100 years and beyond.

Due to the wake-up call we received last year, we are taking two steps to improve the foundation of our Alumni Association:

• We made it easy to update your contact information on our team’s website, cornellsprintfootball.com
• We are launching an initiative to encourage annual recurring gifts to the program through the Cornell donation portal

Action 1:
Without up-to-date contact information, our program has no way of getting in touch with our alumni since we do not have a system of membership dues.  Starting this year, you will be able to update your contact information below.  With this information, we will be able to send you updates on the program and mementos so that you can stay connected and brag to your friends and family about your days on the gridiron.  Just scroll down to enter your contact information.

Action 2:
This year we are focusing our efforts on making it easier for you to give back.  By comparison, if our entire alumni base were to sign up for a recurring gift, for less than many annual credit card fees, we would be able to fully fund our operating budget without needing to pick up the phone.  That being said, we know there are many different situations and circumstances in people's lives so we only ask that you give back to the program what you can.  This is a collective effort. Encourage your classmates to help contribute by posting on our Facebook page, sending out a tweet, or linking up with your fellow alumni on LinkedIn.
