How great it is to have allowed so many young athletes to play an intercollegiate sport, while attaining a career altering education.

Throughout my four years at Cornell, nothing provided me with a stronger sense of family than Sprint Football. Going into the office to sit and chat with Terry and occasionally do some work, always kept me grounded and gave me the very important feeling of having a home base.

If we don’t ask for support now, who will go to bat for us in the future? This is our family. Sprint is doing so much to give kids a balanced college experience. I am very fortunate to have played, worked and shared the joys of our program with Coach Bob and Terry Cullen. Their role model behavior has made a deep and lasting impact on me and my success in life. Now is the time to invest in Sprint Football. We owe this to future generations of young men and women at Cornell.

Although we’re not yet fully endowed, we are givers to the university, not takers. We’re proud of what we can do for other athletic programs given the level and breadth of our alumni financial support. But our future is on everyone’s mind. COVID and Title IX will continue to have their impact on campus and within the league. But education must come first. Sports are extras. We need to protect Sprint like a child for the future.

Twenty pounds too small, no prior football experience, and in need of a haircut – Coach should have kicked me out of his office the day I walked in my freshman year. But Coach molds the team one player at a time and focuses as much attention on how they play off the field as they do on it. For that I am eternally grateful.

Playing Sprint has allowed me to play a sport I love while balancing the demands of an Ivy League education. This has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
